How A Writer Could Make Use Of Diamond Pendants

Filed under: — Pendants Jeweller @ 8:16 am

The writer of the following article would like to know if jewelers sold diamond pendants back in 1912. That was the year when the jewelers of America held a meeting, and then created the list of birthstones. They wanted to encourage the purchase of various gemstones, and so they linked 12 different gems to the different months of the year. Now wearers of diamond pendants have a chance to hang on their necks yet another symbol of their birth month. Today, a necklace wearer can accessorize with a pendant shaped to represent the appropriate sign of the Zodiac.

A writer of fiction needs to find interesting ways to reveal various traits of the characters in a book or story. Sometimes, the writer wants to drop a hint about a character trait, without providing a lot of details. A skillful writer might want to try having one or more characters wear one of the many different diamond pendants.

A story or book character might be seen wearing a necklace with a diamond cross. If the character were to remove that necklace at certain times, the reader might wonder if that act held any significance. Did such an act indicate a need or desire on the part of the character to hide his or her implied Christian beliefs?

A character might have a necklace with a different type of diamond pendant. Some diamond pendants have been given the shape of a Zodiac sign. Were the character to wear such a pendant, then the writer could offer details on how the character’s traits matched with the month of his or her birth.

The two types of diamond pendants mentioned above share one particular feature. Both  have a great many diamonds. The object that dangles from the necklace has been covered with small diamonds. Pendant necklaces also include those chains that carry a solitaire diamond.

A writer might choose to have a character wear a solitaire diamond. Like the other diamond pendants, those solitaire diamonds can be designed in many different shapes. The shape of the solitaire diamond might suggest something about a particular character.

Does the character wear a heart shaped diamond? Such a character might have a tendency to be quite romantic. Does the pendant have the shape of a flower? Perhaps the character loves to garden.

Maybe the writer wants the character to wear a geometrically shaped solitaire diamond. Such a diamond can be given the shape of a square, a circle or an oval. A mystery writer might introduce two different pendant wearers, both of which have chosen to wear a bezel diamond (a round diamond).

The writer might make a brief reference to the similarities between the two pendants. Then the writer might have one necklace with a solitaire diamond found at the scene of a murder. The reader would probably suspect one of the pendant wearers, but would not know for sure who had committed the murder. The reader would keep on reading, hoping to learn whether he or she had identified the right suspect.

Maybe a character in a story desires a diamond pendant, but can not afford such an expensive piece of jewelry.. The character’s efforts to either obtain the needed money, or to steal the desired necklace, could serve as the basis for a good story plot.
